We have many unique opportunites for you to share. We are committed to meet as many needs of the foster youth as possible. It is hard for grasp the differences between the lives of foster children and those in the traditional family setting. All the basics cannot be meet by County of San Diego, especially during these tough economic times. Through the "Children in Need" fund, approximately $50 to $100 is available to each child for ONE YEAR of miscellaneous life expenses. To state the obvious, this is just NOT ENOUGH!

Ministry Needs

We are all very exicted about what God is doing in our lives through this ministry and in the lives of the foster kids that we mentor! We welcome committed adults with a heart for foster kids to get connected and check us out! The more hearts and hands, the better off we all are!

Foster Youth Needs

One of the ways that mentors have a positive impact in the lives of foster kids is to provide a sense of normalcy in an otherwise chaotic existence. The items listed below might seem obvious but there is definitely a need for them. We assist foster kids while they are in care, as they prepare for independence and then after they age-out of the system. We are partakers in life together!

  • Gym Memberships, Yoga, Kickboxing, Martial Arts, Swimming Lessons
  • Donations for yearbooks, class rings, & graduation events (Approx. $350 per student)
  • New kitchen appliances & Furniture for aging out foster youth
  • Care packages for the first home at 18 (pots and pans, towels, food cards, plates and sliverware, laundry detergent, cleaning supplies, cooking utensils, bedding, etc.)
  • Well-maintained used vehicles
  • Monetary donations for Christmas, birthday and graduation gifts. Foster kids don't get Christmas or birthday gifts.
  • Money for Summer Camp
  • School Enrichment Programs such as out of state trips to Boston or Washington DC
  • School Sports such as football and cheerleading (cost is $300.00 average for uniforms)
  • College Books (average is $300.00 per semester)
  • Music Lessons
  • What your heart is moved to give...
